Goo-Gone is a powerful degreasing cleaner that dissolves gum deposits well. It is

best used for cleaning heavy or aged accumulations of gum and grime. It does leave

a minute residue of orange citrus extract on wheels and rails which can eventually cause oxide

formation during train operation, and does temporarily soften and expand some Lionel

type traction tires. These traction tires return to normal after three or four days of drying out. I

recommend using this product just for cleaning heavily varnished or gummed-up wheels,

and for cleaning soiled Gumbuster boards. For routine, day to day (lighter) maintenance

cleaning, I recommend Aero-Locomotive Works ACT 6006 track cleaner.
